Origin, roast level and tasting notes help you choose a coffee. Here is where those details come from, and how to read the scores and reports we share.
Where our product information comes from
Our roasting partner in Bend, Oregon supplies the origin, altitude, processing, varietal and roast information on our coffee pages. Matcha details come from our supply partner. Check the individual product page for the information that applies to your item.
Cupping scores
A cupping score describes a sensory evaluation supplied by our roasting partner. It does not mean Purelight has been certified by the Specialty Coffee Association. For a blend, the listed scores describe its component coffees, not one score for the finished blend.
Our instant coffee and matcha do not carry a coffee cupping score. When choosing, look at the tasting notes, origin, processing and roast details alongside how you like to brew.
Roast profiles
Roast temperatures and first-crack times describe a representative sample batch. They are not a record of the exact batch in your order or a promised roast date. See our Shipping Policy for processing and delivery estimates.
Request a lab report
Lab reports from our roasting partner are available by email. Contact info@purelightcoffee.com and we will send you copies. Include the product name and your order number, if you have one, so we can help with your question.
Each report applies only to the sample, date, methods and substances named in that document. It does not show that every Purelight product, bag or future batch has been individually tested. A result below a test's detection limit does not mean a substance can never be present. Coffee reports should not be assumed to cover matcha.
This page explains the scope of our product information; it is not a batch-specific certificate of analysis.
Finding a coffee's origin
The origin field on each product page tells you where the coffee was grown. Blends may contain coffees from more than one origin. Product names and illustrations are not statements of growing origin.
